IMILAB EC5 Outdoor WiFi Security Camera with 2K, 360° Tracking and Floodlight

The IMILAB EC5 is an outdoor WiFi security camera built around 360° rotation and 360° human tracking. Rather than watching a single fixed angle, it can follow movement across its full rotation range. A 2K/3MP resolution provides detailed video, while smart illumination adjusts the light according to a schedule or motion detection to deliver colour night vision. The camera supports key area detection, also called activity zones, so you can choose which parts of the view trigger alerts. A smart siren adds an audible deterrent. The EC5 connects over Wi-Fi or LAN and is managed through the Mihome app. It holds an IP66 waterproof rating, uses H.265/H.264 compression, and won a 2022 iF Design Award. The listed colour is white, and the package includes one projector camera.

Features and Construction

The EC5 combines tracking, night vision, and alert tools in a single outdoor unit. Its feature set is aimed at reducing missed events while keeping notifications manageable through activity zones. The white housing and IP66 rating support outdoor placement, and the camera is designed to adapt to any place according to the source description.

Material and Build

The housing is listed as white in the available options, and the camera carries an IP66 waterproof rating. That rating indicates protection against dust and water jets, which is relevant for outdoor installation. The source text does not specify the housing material, lens material, or any impact rating. No further construction details are provided beyond the IP66 claim.

Size and Practical Fit

No dimensions or weight are stated in the source text. Practical fit therefore depends on the 360° rotation range and the need for a suitable outdoor mounting position with Wi-Fi or LAN access. The camera is described as able to adapt to any place, but without measurements, it is not possible to confirm clearance requirements or mounting plate size from the available information.

Uses and Placement

The EC5 is intended for outdoor video surveillance where broad coverage and motion tracking are useful. It can be positioned to monitor a garden, driveway, entrance, or similar area, provided Wi-Fi or a LAN connection is available. The Mihome app handles setup and day-to-day viewing.

Event or Professional Use

For semi-professional or event monitoring, the camera's 2K/3MP resolution and 360° human tracking can help follow movement across a wide area. Key area detection allows operators to focus alerts on specific zones. The smart siren can be triggered when needed. Cloud storage and MicroSD card storage up to 256GB provide options for reviewing footage.

Everyday Home Use

For home use, the EC5 can be set to follow human movement and to adjust its illumination automatically. Colour night vision helps identify details after dark, while activity zones reduce unnecessary notifications. The white housing is a neutral choice for most exterior walls. The camera works over Wi-Fi or LAN and is controlled through the Mihome app.

Benefits and Buying Value

The main practical benefits are broad rotational coverage, source-supported 2K/3MP video, colour night vision through smart illumination, and flexible storage. The IP66 rating supports outdoor use, and the included siren adds an on-camera alert. Value comes from combining tracking, lighting, and storage options in one unit rather than several separate devices.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

Storage can be handled locally with a MicroSD card up to 256GB or via cloud storage, so users can choose the setup that suits them without changing hardware. The IP66 rating means the camera is built for outdoor conditions, though no specific cleaning or servicing instructions are given in the source text. Keeping the lens and housing free of obvious dirt is a reasonable low-risk practice for any outdoor camera.
